I began hand driving wood shakes and shingles over space sheathing in Texas in 1985. All our flashings were soldered galvanized or copper because when it rains in Texas it floods. I then spent over twenty-five years in the waterproofing union RWAW in the Pacific Northwest where everything became stainless steel to deal with tough environment. Most recently before moving to New Zealand I was a Red Seal RSOS Architectural Sheetmetal installer where most of my work was aluminium cladding in beautiful British Columbia
